Blair featured in national magazine Curve Magazine

At only 24 years old, Blair Hansen has had remarkable success. San Francisco Bay Area-based singer has won two OutMusic Awards, one for Best Country/Folk Song and another for Humanitarian Songwriter of the Year. Additionally, her song “Break Away” was recently featured in the film Hannah Free, starring Sharon Gless.

Blair Hansen started singing lessons when she was 9 and recorded her first album when she was 15. Ever since, she’s dreamed of being the next Dixie Chicks. With album number three just released and a song in a new movie, she’s on her way. Blair’s success has been boosted considerably by her number one fan - her dad Steve Hansen. He’s worked day and night promoting her music since she was a kid - booking gigs, driving her to rehearsals and concerts, even giving up a new business he’d just launched. Dick Gordon talks to the father-daughter duo about the ups and downs of tackling music as a family business.

I dug the song "Breakaway" from the soundtrack of the film Hannah Free when I first saw it. Hearing Blair Hansen’s “Wandering Soul” in my ear buds both chilled and thrilled me. This hot recording artist is the 2009 OutMusic Country/Folk Song winner for "Breakaway." A real Cali girl (she resides in the San Francisco Bay area), Hansen is a young musician who also captured the Sonic Bids Humanitarian Songwriter of the Year award for her latest CD Real World. Her tagline is “Acoustic melodies with an edge” and she certainly has an edgy and hip look along with an eager, winning smile.

Blair was the recipient of (2) OUtMusic Awards in New York recently. Blair's song REAL WORLD (included on her new album of the same name) was honored to be the recipient of the "Humanitarian Song of the Year" Award and her song BREAK AWAY co written with Seattle based Vicci Martinez was the recipient for "Outstanding Folk or Country Song". BREAK AWAY is also credited and was in the music score for the recently released movie HANNAH FREE starring Sharon Gless.
